Carter, Jr. leaving Yellow Jackets

Thomasville native Robert Carter, Jr. is transferring from Georgia Tech.

The school confirmed Tuesday the sophomore forward has been granted his release from the program.

Carter was the Yellow Jackets' second leading scorer in 2014, averaging 11.4 points per game.

The 6'8, 247 pounder missed Tech's first 10 ACC games of the season while recovering from a torn meniscus.

Carter played in 54 games with the Yellow Jackets, averaging 10.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
