Lost hikers rescued from area near Kaaawa

KAAAWA (HawaiiNewsNow) - UPDATE at 7:00 a.m.:
All hikers have been rescued from the trail. No injuries were reported.

Honolulu fire rescue crews are attempting to retrieve three hikers who are believed to have gotten lost while hiking in the mountains above the Crouching Lion restaurant on Sunday.

The hikers, ages 27, 28 and 30, reportedly set off on their hike at around 12 p.m., according to Fire Inspector Kevin Mokulehua.

They reportedly became lost and called for help at around 6:20 p.m.

The hikers did not possess flashlights but did have cell phones that were used to communicate with rescuers and track GPS locations.

An aerial search for the hikers on Sunday evening was suspended due to visibility concerns.
