In the fourth inning, UH added another run with two outs. Jordan Burton and Kayla Wartner both walked and then Ulu Matagiese then hit a single to centerfield. On the play, the centerfielder misplayed the ball for an error that allowed Burton to score from second to give the 'Bows a 2-0 lead.
The Aggies had runners on in all but one inning, but Morales and the defense were able to escape unscathed. UCD had their best chance to score in the bottom of the seventh inning. After a ground out to second, Chandler Wagner hit a sharp grounder that ricocheted off of the shin of Morales. UH got the second out on a flyout to leftfield. But Cat Guidry then reached on a single to third. On the play, the throw sailed past the first baseman and Wagner tried to race around third to score but was cut down on at the plate with a strike thrown from Zamora to Sharla Kliebenstein who tagged her out to end the inning and the game.
