The goal all year for the Lady Cavs has been to get to the national championship tournament.
Now that they're there, it's all about coming home with the trophy.
The Lady Cavs have been practicing at night this week to get used to playing under the lights. They've only done it once this season.
They've had a lot of time to work as well.
Darton's last game was three weeks ago when they won the region title.
All that time off can raise concerns, but head coach Eric Neel says it has been a good thing,.
"We feel pretty good about our timing staying the same and all those kinds of things, and we really feel like we're fresher mentally and physically," Neel says. "We kind of had a similar break during spring break and we came out on fire, so hopefully that same success will happen again."
The Lady Cavs have won 19 straight games, and haven't lost since March 15.
Neel feels like his team is locked in, and says they'll need to keep that focus.
"We can't worry about who's going to be the next game, who even is coming up to hit in the next inning," he says. "It's a matter of one pitch at a time, no matter what we're doing. Hopefully we can keep that composure and do those things the whole time in Utah."
The Lady Cavs are still waiting to find out their first opponent. Tournament play begins Wednesday.
