Police sources tell Hawaii News Now's Lynn Kawano that the victim suffered third-degree burns and remains hospitalized at the Straub Clinic & Hospital in extremely critical condition.

Honolulu police detectives confirm a man has been arrested after allegedly dousing another man in gasoline and setting him on fire in Kaneohe. HPD says no charges have been filed at this time, but they have opened an attempted murder investigation.
EMS confirms the victim, a man in his late 40s, was rushed to the hospital in serious condition with second-degree burns all over his body. Eyewitnesses say they heard the two men arguing around 6:15 Wednesday night at a home on the end of Anoi Rd.
They say they watched in horror as the confrontation escalated and the suspect poured gasoline all over the victim then threw a match at him, lighting him on fire. Bystanders reportedly jumped in and used a garden hose to extinguish the flames.
Police say witnesses chased after the suspect and detained him until they arrived on the scene and made the arrest. Neither the suspect nor the victim have been identified at this time.

According to the Kaneohe police station, an arrest has been made. No further details were available at this time.
Honolulu police officers are searching for a suspect responsible for setting a man on fire on Wednesday.
Emergency Medical Services officials said a man in his late 40s was rushed to the hospital in serious condition and suffered second-degree burns after the suspect apparently doused flammable liquid on the victim and set him on fire.
"I came outside and there was a guy running around on fire, screaming," witness Rocky Kahanu said. "From top to bottom his whole body was on fire. His skin was all pale and white, so he looked pretty bad."
Police are still investigating the incident which took place on Anoi Road at approximately 6:15 p.m.
