Flood Advisory expires for parts of Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - [Update 7:45 p.m.]

A Flood Advisory that was issued for parts of Oahu has expired.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of Oahu until 7:15 p.m.

At 5:06 p.m., radar showed heavy rain near Waipahu, or about 9 miles northwest of Honolulu. The area of heavy rain was drifting to the south southwest. Radar estimates indicate rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour in this area. Additional Heavy showers may develop across leeward and interior areas of Oahu through the remainder of the late afternoon.

Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Waikele, Kunia, Whitmore Village, Waipio, Wahiawa, Schofield Barracks, Pearl City and Mililani Town. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 7:15 pm if Heavy Rain persists.
