The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory until 6 a.m. Monday for the north and west facing shores of Kauai and Niihau and the north shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui.
Forecasters said a rising north-northwest swell will push wave heights to 10 to 15 feet on the affected shores.
Beachgoers should expect strong breaking waves and shore breaks, along with strong longshore and rip currents that will make swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice from ocean safety lifeguards and exercise caution.
