Bomb threat shuts down Lihue Walmart

LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Kauai Police Department is investigating a bomb threat incident that shut down the Lihue Walmart Friday night.

According to KPD, the male suspect called the Walmart location around 9:14 p.m. saying that a bomb was situated in the toy department.

Officials evacuated customers and closed both entrances to the store.

Police conducted a search for the alleged device, but none was found. The search was completed at about 11:25 p.m.

There are no suspects in this case. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Police Dispatch at 241-1711. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 241-1887.
