VetsBridge.com Will Dramatically Change How Veterans Make Employment Connections
MADISON, Wis., May 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- First Fairfield Associates, LLC, today announced the launch of VetsBridge.com, a new service that aims to bring returning veterans and potential employers together. What's different about VetsBridge.com is that unlike job boards and other self-help resources for veterans, VetsBridge.com is a service that makes it easier and faster for veterans and employers to find each other.
Developed on behalf of FirstGig.com, the free-to-access website is aimed specifically at veterans and businesses that seek skilled employees and hire veterans. With more than one million service men and women returning from active duty in the next few years, making those connections and helping companies find great employees has never been more important.
Last week, the Obama Administration introduced the Veterans Employment Center, an employment resource for veterans. VetsBridge.com was developed with a similar mission that was highlighted during the launch, "If you fought for this country around the world, you shouldn't have to fight for a job when you return home." The difference between the new veterans center job board and VetsBridge.com service is a proprietary algorithm that simplifies the search and makes it easier for veterans to match their military skills, experiences, and challenges with compatible civilian employment.
"The transition from service member to veteran can be a challenging one," said Al Marco, CEO of FirstGig.com. "Veterans are highly skilled and uniquely qualified individuals, but there are often gaps when trying to match their skills to careers. That's where VetsBridge.com comes in. We have developed a unique algorithm to translate military experience to civilian careers.
VetsBridge.com is not a job board. When employer requirements match 100% of veterans' criteria, the matches are sent to veterans to review. If they accept the opportunity, it's up to them to initiate contact with the interested employer.
"Veterans can access career opportunities from top employers around the world," continued Marco. "It's accessible anytime military personnel are ready to begin their job search. Veterans can create a profile and manage opportunities before fulfilling duty commitments."
For a limited time, VetsBridge.com will also be free for companies to join. It's never been easier for veterans and employers to find each other.
