CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Sheriff's officials say a man has been calling people in Montgomery County pretending to be a lieutenant.

The man has reportedly been calling residents and telling them they have a warrant out for their arrest.

Officials say this person is not employed by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Jesse Reynolds says if there is a warrant on file, the person would be visited by officers in uniform or in a marked patrol car or they would be asked to come to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information or anyone who receives these calls is asked to call Billy Wall at (931) 648-0611, ext. 13415.
