Man suspected in Kapolei shooting remains in police custody

KAPOLEI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - UPDATE at 5:30 a.m. on MONDAY:
Honolulu Police Department officials say Matthew Chung remains in custody on Monday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Honolulu police detectives are investigating a shooting in Kapolei that left a 23-year-old man in serious condition Saturday. 

According to police records, the incident occurred in the Kapolei area around 4:00 p.m.

Police arrested the 24-year-old suspect Matthew Chung around 11:40 p.m. on Kamokila Boulevard.

HPD officials say the male victim suffered gunshot wounds to this chest and arm areas. He was taken to an area hospital, by a friend, in serious condition.

The case is still pending investigation.
