Wie stays consistent; moves into contention at Swinging Skirts Classic

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After two rounds of staying on par, Michelle Wie's consistent play has vaulted herself into the top 15.

The Punahou alum shot a 71 to finish in 13th place after round three of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in Daly City, California.

Wie had three birdies and two bogeys to move into one under par and nine strokes behind leader Stacy Lewis.

If the 24-year-old manages to stay in her current position, it'll be her 13th straight top 25 finish since October 2013. Through seven tournaments this season, she's never finished below 16th place.

The final round tees off Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Hawaii time.
