A brush fire in an area off Kapolei Parkway between Renton Road and North-South Road on Thursday morning burned nearly 3 acres of land, according to a Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson.
Officials say the first call alerting authorities to the flames, which were reportedly sighted in an area just across the street from the Kapolei Fire Station, came in at around 4:43 a.m.
There was no reported threat to any structures, authorities say, and 12 firefighters from 5 HFD units helped battle the flames.
Traffic cameras in the area showed significant amounts of smoke while the fire was burning.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
