Hawaii News Now Sunrise goes 'wild' at Honolulu Zoo on Thursday

Posted: Updated:
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Thursday morning broadcast of Hawaii News Now Sunrise will feature lots of 'monkeying' around, and we aren't talking about the usual antics of Steve Uyehara, Grace Lee, Dan Cooke or Howard Dicus.

Beginning at 5 a.m., Hawaii News Now will broadcast our morning news from the Honolulu Zoo in Waikiki, bringing a wild twist to your daily dose of news, weather and traffic.

Tune in as we give you a behind-the-scenes look at the zoo, including exclusive interviews with the zoo personnel, previews of upcoming additions to the park, and interactions with some of the rare (and dangerous!) animals the Honolulu Zoo has to offer.

We'll also have the latest updates on several issues in the areas around the zoo, including parking problems along Kapahulu and renovations at the Waikiki Aquarium and the Natatorium.

Mileka Lincoln will continue to provide live updates from Hilo on the Merrie Monarch Festival, and Ramsay Wharton and Rachel Pacarro will anchor the show from inside the Hawaii News Now studio.

Live coverage from the Honolulu Zoo begins on Thursday at 5 a.m. on KGMB and KHNL.
