Lawmakers took some time off Monday evening, to raise money for the Hawaii Foodbank.

The 'Capitol Idol II' talent show was held at the State Capitol Auditorium and included performances by members from the House of Representatives, Executive branch and Senate.

"We had a lot of fun for a good cause as we approach a hectic time during the legislative session," said Senator Mike Gabbard who organized the event. "We surpassed what we brought in last year and it's all thanks to our guests and performances.

Although the Executive Branch took home perpetual trophies, it was Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Abercrombie, Blank Oshiro and his back-up dancers, who stole the show with their rendition of "Last Dance."

In 2012, the event raised a total of $1400.
