Michelle Wie entered the final round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship on the precipice of a career milestone, her first win in an LPGA major.
Unfortunately, the waiting will continue for the Punahou grad.
After coming into the day in first place, Wie shot a three-bogey 71 and fell three strokes behind winner Lexi Thompson to finish the tourney in second place.
The result ties Wie with her highest finish in a major, which came back in 2005 at the LPGA Championship.
Wie returns home in two weeks for the Lotte Championship in Kapolei.
