Medical Examiner releases sketches of unidentified men found dead

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office is requesting the public's assistance in identifying two homeless men who were found dead earlier this year.

The first case is number 14-0193; according to a press release, the man's body was found on a sidewalk at Ala Wai Park near 2132 Kapiolani Blvd. on Jan. 30, 2014. The following is a description from investigators:

  • MED Case: 14-0193
  • Age: 55-75 years old
  • Height: 5'7"
  • Weight: 114 pounds
  • Race: Asian/Asian mix
  • Tattoos: None
  • Hair Color: Gray, balding
  • Eye Color: Brown

The ME says the man was homeless and may have been a St. Louis High School graduate and may have served in the Air Force.  The ME did not say where that information came from.

The second case is number 14-0103; according to a press release, the man's body was found at a bus stop bench at the intersection of Kalakaua Avenue and S. King Street on Jan. 16, 2014. . The following is a description from investigators:

  • MED Case: 14-0103
  • Age: 50-70 years old
  • Height: 5'10"
  • Weight: 125 pounds
  • Race: Caucasian
  • Identifying Marks: Large vertical scar on chest/abdomen
  • Hair Color: White
  • Eye Color: Blue

The Medical Examiner says the man was homeless and possibly served in the military.
