Police: Man arrested for DUI had 5-year-old in car

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of DUI, and police say he was driving around with his child in the car.

Police stopped the driver after he peeled out of a parking lot on the 3800 block of Nolensville Pike Monday night.

The officer says driver Jordan Smithson smelled like alcohol and was given a field sobriety test.

Police say Smithson was swaying and couldn't touch his nose.

Smithson has been charged with DUI with a child and was arrested just after 11 p.m. Monday.
