(Hawaii News Now) - The 57th Hawai`i State Science & Engineering Fair will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center Kamehameha Exhibit Hall III. Public viewing will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. with awards to follow. The State Science Fair is the oldest and largest secondary school science event held in the State. More than 9,000 projects get developed at school level and advance to district fairs. Each district sends their best to the state fair where more than 300 projects and participants gather for interviews, networking and sharing. Participants compete for more than 300 awards valued at more than $20,000 and to represent Hawai`i at the INTEL International Science & Engineering Fair where more than 75 countries are represented.
Participation provides budding young scientist an opportunity to participate and network with real scientist and others who have a passion for science. Program can involve students of all ages working in areas of astronomy, engineering, microbiology, etc.
