(Hawaii News Now) - The Pearlridge Center Butterfly Conservatory is a special exhibit that houses hundreds of living butterflies fluttering freely amidst their favorite local flora now through April 19! Keiki can see the life cycle of these beautiful creatures from egg to butterfly, first hand, through a self-guided tour. And be prepared for the possibility that a butterfly may land gently on your head or on your shoulder!
The conservatory also serves as a living habitat where the public can learn about the common local plants that are critical to establishing a butterfly garden at home. The museum-quality exhibit also features educational activities on the Kamehameha butterfly, the state insect and only one of two butterflies native to Hawaii.
