Supreme Court of Canada justice to visit UH

HONOLULU (AP) - A justice of the Supreme Court of Canada will be visiting the University of Hawaii law school.

The university says Rosalie Silberman Abella will visit Hawaii for about a week, starting Saturday. She'll be part of the Bright Jurist-in-Residence program at the law school.

The program was launched in 2007 to bring judges from other countries to Hawaii. Abella will teach two classes at the law school and meet with various people including federal and state judges and members of Hawaii Women Lawyers.

She'll also be giving a public talk on April 2 at the Hawaii Supreme Court.

Abella was appointed to Canada's Supreme Court in 2004.
