Update 8:20 a.m.:

Wanaao Road, between Kailua and Awakea Roads, has been reopened, according to HPD. A HECO spokesperson said repairs are complete and power has been restored.

Original story:

Honolulu police closed Wanaao Road, between Kailua and Awakea Roads, after a car struck a pole at around 12:30 a.m. on Friday. The pole isn't down, but is leaning over with wires hanging out.

Hawaiian Electric Co. crews are currently on scene to assess the situation and make repairs. There were no reports of any resulting power outages, but HECO had to shut off power in the area for repair work. It is unclear how many customers were impacted and when power will be restored, a HECO spokesperson said.

Police said the 19-year-old female driver of the car and her male passengers, ages 15 and 21, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Castle Medical Center for treatment.

Officers are investigating whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
