HPD arrests 34-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder

Honolulu police arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday after he allegedly used his vehicle to run over three people.

Police arrested Carlin Jones for three counts of murder, three counts of terroristic threatening, impersonating a police officer and endangering the welfare of a minor. HPD said he intentionally drove his vehicle toward three people -- ages 33, 18 and 34 -- and then threatened them.

The arrest was made at approximately 5:45 p.m., 15 minutes after the incident occurred, near the 3000 block of Pualei Circle.

Police have not yet charged the man.
