HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
For years Hawaii aquaculture farmers have been selling baby oysters to mainland companies which grow them to maturity for commercial sale. But Kualoa Ranch has begun growing oysters to maturity in its Hawaiian fishpond, for local consumption.
Kualoa Operations Manager David Morgan says they oysters are being sold on the ranch but he is getting inquiries from local chefs.
Currently, Pacific Oysters of Kualoa are now available at the Kualoa Visitor Center and the Windward Mall Farmers Market. For more information click HERE.
