Cleveland: Ironworkers hurt when cable snaps during bridge repair

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Four ironworkers were injured on Wednesday when a cable snapped on the bridge they were repairing.

The accident happened on Columbus Avenue in Cleveland.

The ironworkers were doing repairs on the bridge over the Cuyahoga River.

Two of the injured men were transported to the hospital. One spent the night, but is expected to be released on Thursday.

The injured ironworkers suffered mainly bumps and bruises.

About 20 ironworkers were on the bridge when the incident happened.

OSHA is now investigating.
