H&M, Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), will open its first location in the state of Hawaii on March 27 at noon. The 31,000 square foot flagship store is located in the Waikiki Business Plaza.
"We are truly excited to open our first location in the islands at this iconic shopping location in Waikiki," said Daniel Kulle, U.S. President for H&M. "People from across the globe travel to Hawaii to experience its very special culture and an environment that is unlike any other in the US or in the world. Our new flagship location will be a great addition to the luxury retail mix on Kalakaua Avenue."
Opening new stores across the country allows H&M to support local economies where they operate stores. 160 local employees have been hired for the new location, including 20 people that will return from the mainland home to Hawaii.
On opening day, March 27, H&M will offer the first 500 shoppers in line a limited-edition tote bag as well as an Access to Fashion Pass valued from $10 to $500.
