Man arrested for February Toledo murder

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

An arrest has been made to a February murder.

Deontay Smith, 24, was arrested Monday night around 6 in the 6100 block of Trust in Holland by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Toledo Police K-9 units. He has been charged with the murder of Michael Macklin Jr., 20. 

Macklin was found inside a car near the corner of Greenwood and Walden Avenues with a gunshot wound to the face just after 1 a.m. He later died at a nearby hospital.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of a known fugitive is encouraged to contact the NOVFTF at 1-866-4WANTED or text keyword "WANTED" with the tip to TIP411. Tipsters may remain anonymous. A cash reward may be available.
