IRVINE, Calif. - After more than a century in existence, there aren't many "firsts" left for the University of Hawaii men's basketball program.

However, for the first time in Rainbows history, two players earned first-team all-conference honors in the same season.

Senior forward Christian Standhardinger and sophomore forward Isaac Fotu were named to the the Big West Conference first team.

Standhardinger becomes just the second UH player to be named to the all-conference first team in back-to-back seasons, joining Predrag Savovic (2000-01, '01-02). The native of Munich Germany finished the regular-season ranked fourth in the conference in both scoring (17.7 ppg) and rebounding (8.4 rpg), while his 9.2 rpg in conference play ranked second in the league.

Fotu, meanwhile, gained all-conference recognition for the second straight year. The native of Torbay, Auckland, New Zealand was named the Big West Co-Freshman of the Year last season. He followed up a fabulous freshman year with an even more impressive sophomore campaign, averaging 15.2 ppg and 6.1 rpg, while being among the national leaders in field goal percentage (.597).

UH next heads to the Big West Tournament, March 13-15, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The No. 4 seeded Rainbow Warriors will face Cal State Northridge in a quarterfinal matchup on Thursday, March 13 at 8:30 p.m. PT/5:30 p.m. HT.
