Police: Toledo woman robbed of prescriptions, run over by suspects

MONROE, MI (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo woman says she was robbed and then run over by two people she knew after they gave her a ride to pick up her prescriptions.

Monroe Police say the victim, who is 43-years-old, asked the two acquaintances for a ride to pick up her prescriptions just before noon Wednesday. Once she had the pills, the two assaulted the woman inside the car, took the pills and pulled her out of the vehicle.

The woman then stood in front of the car pleading with the suspects to return her medicine, police say. Police say that is when the driver hit the gas, causing the woman to flip over the car and land on her side.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with a broken collar bone, broken ribs and several lacerations and contusions. She is listed in stable condition. Police say the whole scene unfolded on East Front Street near I-75 in Monroe.

The suspects fled the scene in a black sedan. Police have not made any arrests in the case.
