HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Last month, vandals broke into Iolani Palace and shattered a glass door panel. The incident alarmed singer Mailani Makaini and kumu hula Kaui Dalire of Ha Enterprises who felt compelled to raise money for the historical building.

On April 6, the local Hawaiian music community will come together to throw an all-day benefit concert, Ola Ka Ha, in which proceeds will go toward the preservation of the official royal residence for the Hawaiian monarchy.

The lineup includes Hawaiian musicians Mailani, Jerry Santos, Teresa Bright, Weldon Kekauoha, Sean Na'auao, Waipuna and Hu‘ewa alongside hula halau from across the islands.

Mailani was on "Sunrise" to provide more information about the event and give a preview performance.
