K9 helps track down Dollar General robbery suspect

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A 20-year-old Akron man charged with robbing the Brittain Road Dollar General Store.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The employees reported the suspect entered the store, approached the checkout counter armed with a handgun and demanded money. The clerk handed the suspect an unreported amount of money and the suspect fled.

Responding officers used a K9 and tracked the suspect to his apartment on Alphada Avenue.

Raylon Lampley, 20, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery then booked into the Summit County Jail.

Officers recovered the gun used in the robbery and the cash taken during the robbery.
