LAKE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The families of the Chardon High School shooting victims sued the Chardon School District on Thursday, the 2nd anniversary of the deadly school shooting.

Demetrius Hewlin, Russell King Jr., and Danny Parmertor were killed. Nick Walcazk is left paralyzed at the hands of the shooter, T. J. Lane.

The suit makes a startling claim that someone told Chardon Schools and board members that security was a concern before the shooting.

The lawsuit reads:

"...specifically warned and advised for the need for additional security at Chardon High School in order to protect the student body and deter the likelihood of criminal assaults."

It's not clear who that someone is or how many days before that fatal day they were warned.
It doesn't end there. The Lake Academy Alternative School where shooter T. J. Lane attended is also named in the suit.

"...failed to properly evaluate, assess and respond to the risks and dangers presented by T. J. Lane and further failed to warn others, including Chardon Local Schools of his mental instability and his at risk propensity to commit violent acts towards others."
