WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Zoo Society received $150 in funds raised by nine-year-old, Siena Spagnoli through craft fair sales, this week. The money will be passed along to the Honolulu Zoo's Conservation Committee.
Spagnoli's donation will help endangered species both locally and around the world. Spagnoli raised the money this winter in Le Jardin Academy's holiday craft fair by selling her innovative designs dubbed 'Chalk It Up Gear', custom painted trucker hats and thought bubbles that can be written on like chalkboards.
Following in Siena's entrepreneurial spirit and compassion for animals, any person commenting on Siena's post on the Honolulu Zoo Society's Facebook page through February 28, 2014 will be automatically entered to win a "Chalk It Up Gear" hat and hair clip.
The Honolulu Zoo Society says Spagnoli is their youngest donor.
