Stretch of Kamehameha Highway in Laie reopened after downed power line
LAIE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Kamehameha Highway between Naniloa Loop and Laniloa Street has been reopened in both directions after a downed guy wire and utility pole prompted a road closure, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Police said a car apparently swerved into the pole, knocking it down at around 4 a.m.
The Hawaiian Electric Co. was notified and crews were on scene to clear the pole and debris from the road. No power outages were reported since the pole did not have power lines.
Traffic diverted to the Polynesian Cultural Center parking lot.
