Thousands of dollars were donated to the Wounded Warriors Organization Friday at the annual "Boots on the Ground" recognition luncheon.

Windward Dodge Chrysler Jeep and Windward Hyundai dealerships donated $18,000 to the organization.

"I'm just grateful", said Michelle Milan, IA-Staff Sergeant. Milan was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 and appreciated all the services the Wounded Warrior Organization has done.

The Wounded Warrior Organization helps provide funds for IA's and their families while they're being deployed. Giving spousal support, meals at the barracks, care giving, and a variety of other services and needs for IA's and their loved ones.

"All the people out there, sacrificing themselves, those brave young men and women fighting for our freedom. We just wanted to give back one way or another", said Jerry Ramos, of Windward Hyundai.

For more than a year, Windward Dodge Chrysler Jeep and Windward Hyundai have been putting money in a fund for the Wounded Warriors organization with every car sold. The two dealerships expect to present donations yearly.
