Big Island Police investigating hospitalization of infant

KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Island police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the hospitalization of a 2-month-old Holualoa boy.

On Wednesday, the Area II Juvenile Aid Section was notified by Child Welfare Services in Honolulu that the infant had been taken by a family member to Kona Community Hospital Tuesday night.  The child was then flown to The Queen's Medical Center on Oahu on Wednesday morning.

Detectives from the Juvenile Aid Section have initiated an abuse case.  The extent of the child's injuries are not known.
