KAKAAKO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

"There's nothing like this in Kaka'ako". Those words came from Alex Kite, who's the Marketing Manager for The Groove.

The Groove is the new go-kart amusement park opening this Saturday at 9am.  Located on Ala Moana Boulevard near Ward, The Groove promises to give people a fun new experience.

"In the indoor area there's an arcade that we're constantly going to be adding games to…in the billiards area we have shuffleboard too" Kite explains.

Additionally, there are multiple lounge areas where people can relax and enjoy the food and beverages that will be sold on site.  Concessions include a food truck, a brick oven for pizza and a smoothie stand.

The main attraction however, is outside.

"The go kart track is a 1/3 mile custom track.  We've built it with banked turns for the best turns you can imagine" Kite said.

The karts are gas powered, and motor around the track at impressive speeds.  The cost for a race is $29.95 for a six minute race with no lap limits.  Packages can be bought to increase value.

The Groove has partnered with Paradise Pedal Party Bike for tours.  Additionally, there are keiki specific rides with unlimited access for $19.95.

The owners say The Groove is a work in progress.  They hope to add everything from more video games to billiards tables to a bar and grill which can serve alcohol.

It will be open from 9am to 10p seven days a week once it opens.  For more information, go to www.groovehawaii.com
