HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Nearly 80 students will be recognized on Wednesday for their creativity in identifying thoughtful solutions to solving some of Hawaii's biggest problems.
More than 850 entries entries were submitted for the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation's "Inspired in Hawaii" contest in which students from kindergarten through grade 12 entered videos, essays and posters for their topics. But only 78 winners were selected to receive $10,000 for their projects.
Mililani High School video instructor Jason Tamura, Mililani junior Sarah LeTarte, and Mililani senior Rachel Reichard were on Hawaii News Now Sunrise to explain what the projects were all about.
