Double fatality after car crashes into house

MEDINA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Medina Post is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 4:21 p.m. Saturday on State Route 301 just north of US Route 224, Homer Township, in Medina County.

 A 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by Doris K. Williams, age 58, of West Salem, Ohio was northbound on State Route 301.  

Williams traveled through a stop sign at US Route 224, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a mailbox and struck a house before coming to final rest. 

The passenger Rosemarie Kinney, age 53, of West Salem, Ohio and the driver, Doris Williams both died of their injuries at the scene. 

The driver was wearing her safety restraint but the passenger was not wearing her safety restraint at the time of the crash. 

The occupants in the house were not injured.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash. 

The crash is still under investigation.
