H-1 West-bound lanes reopened after multiple vehicle accidents

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Multiple vehicle accidents near the airport prompted police officials to close the H-1 freeway West-bound lanes around 5 a.m. on Saturday.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, the H-1 freeway was closed at the Nimitz on ramp, and airport on ramp at approximately 5:11 a.m.

According to an official from the Kalihi Police Substation, one officer was rear ended while he was in his vehicle. He was treated at the hospital and later released.

Roads were reopened shortly before 6:30 a.m.
