HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Clouds, showers and eventually strong breezes are forecast for your Valentine's Day. Don't expect to see much sunshine today... or this weekend, for that matter. Winds will be gusty NE 15-25mph by afternoon and into the weekend. Showers will fall mainly windward and mauka but spread leeward from time to time.
Isolated neighborhoods on Kauai and Oahu have received most of the rainfall in the last 24 hours. Accumulations topped 4 inches at gauges along north Kauai.. more than 2 inches in spots along windward Oahu. Those islands are targeted for much of the rainfall this weekend as well. Maui County and the Big Island will be drier.
The wet weather could crank up a notch late Sunday into the first of next week as a Kona low develops west of the islands. Widespread heavy showers will be possible.
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY has been posted for north facing shores through Saturday morning.
