Rainbow Wahine fall short of upset; split four-game road trip

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii women's basketball team concluded its two-week road trip with yet another close defeat, this time to the hands of Big West leader Cal Poly, 62-60, Saturday afternoon at Mott Athletics Center.
The Rainbow Wahine (11-10, 5-4 Big West) dropped three of the four road games by three points or less and their lone win, against UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, was by a near-identical score (63-60) as Saturday's contest.

Kamilah Jackson and Shawna-Lei Kuehu each led the Rainbow Wahine with 14 points. Jackson added nine rebounds and four assists, while Kuehu did most of her damage in the first half with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting.  Destiny King added 11 points and nine rebounds, just missing her second double-double in four games.

Hawai'i returns home to host UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton this week.
