KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Undercover Honolulu police made three more arrests Wednesday afternoon in what some officers call the 'Nakano gang'.
Nicolas Nakano was arrested last week in Kahala. Police say he shot at arresting officers while they were trying to handcuff him.
Later that week five people were arrested at a home in Kailua and Wednesday afternoon, three more were taken into custody.
Undercover officers had been following one of them for several days. Sources describe him as a major player in the gang. There was an arrest warrant out for him on drug charges.
Police followed the silver Infiniti until it turned onto a dead end on Iliwahi Loop. That's when officers surrounded the car. The location is two blocks from the home that was raided last week.
Sources say drugs were found inside the car, which was towed and is being searched.
The two other people in the car were also arrested. Police say charges are pending against them. They are considered part of the gang.
