KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - A photo taken by a Big Island photographer has earned him the distinction of 2013 Photographer of the Year for Real Estate.
Ethan Tweedie was recognized by a jury of his peers for his outstanding work capturing the beautiful landscapes and homes across Hawaii.
Tweedie, who gave up a career in business to follow his passion, says living in Hawaii is the perfect setting for his work. "It's like a playground for some of the most beautiful homes in the world, here on the Big Island and in Hawaii in general," said Tweedie.
Tweedie's winning picture was taken at Kukio Resort on the Kona coast. His photograph beat out ten others for the top spot.
"To win the PFRE contest is something I am very proud of, originally I had gone to the Photography For Real Estate website/blog to learn more and improve my skills, and to win is really exciting," said Tweedie.
