HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - To celebrate the start of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Hawaii News Now is taking Sunrise 'On The Ice' and will broadcast Thursday's morning show from center ice at the Ice Palace in Honolulu.

It may not be Russia, but Steve Uyehara, Grace Lee and Dan Cooke will bundle up and bring you a preview of the 22nd Winter Olympics, which officially begin on Thursday. The opening ceremonies for the Olympics are scheduled for Friday and can be seen on KHNL.

You can watch Sunrise 'On The Ice' from the Ice Palace on Thursday morning beginning at 5 a.m. on KGMB and KHNL.

Tune in to watch live figure skating performances, demonstrations of Winter Olympic sports like ice hockey and curling, and a look at how difficult (and fun) training for an olympic event like bobsledding can be!

The Sunrise crew will also have details on the athletes to watch out for at the Sochi games, plus more on how the city has prepared for the games and specialized weather forecasts for Sochi ahead of the start of competition.
