KAPAHULU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 36-year-old male is in police custody and faces two counts of first-degree assault after allegedly stabbing two men, according to the Honolulu Police Department.

The incident took place next to the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped on Kapahulu Avenue at around 12:30 a.m.  A 50-year-old man was found stabbed and taken to Queen's Medical Center in serious, but stable condition, police said. A 53-year-old man had an apparent slash wound to the neck and was taken to Queen's in stable condition. He was released a few hours later and returned to the scene at approximately 5 a.m.

Police said the men -- who are possibly homeless -- were apparently involved in an argument that may have led to the stabbing.
