Hawaii Foodbank kicks off 2014 campaign

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The holiday season may be over, but the 'season of giving' can last all year. The Hawaii Foodbank is hoping you'll make a donation this year.

The agency kicked off its  food drive at a breakfast for supporters today. Its 2014 goal is to collect enough donations for one million meals. Food is flying off the foodbank's shelves to go to needy families.

"Right now our inventory is only about 12 days and we like to be around 17,18 days of inventory so we need more food.  We have to get more food," said Dick Grimm, president of the Hawaii Foodbank.

This is the 25th anniversary of the food drive.  For more information click the link: Http://www.hawaiifoodbank.org/Home.aspx
