Kauai residents can expect increases in noise from scheduled training

BARKING SANDS, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

 

Beginning this weekend, residents on Kauai can expect increases in noise from scheduled aviation training.

The U.S. Army will be conducting joint training with the U.S. Navy called Koa Kai 14-1 off Barking Sands from approximately 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. through Friday. 

A statement reads, the Army "appreciates the community's understanding." It goes on to say, "the sounds of training represent how the Army ensures our nation's Soldiers are ready to accomplish the mission and return home safely."

To report concerns related to noise or training, you are asked to call the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii Noise Concern Line at 656-3487. The USAG-HI Public Affairs Office will contact you about your concern during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
