A High Surf Warning is posted for the north and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai and the north shores of Maui until 6 a.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service said north shores are forecast to rise to 25 to 30 feet, while west shores will rise rapidly to 18 to 22 feet.

Forecasters warned beachgoers that ocean water may occasionally sweep across beaches, and that the waves will also cause strong breaking waves with strong longshore and rip currents, making swimming very hazardous. Breaking waves may also impact harbor channels, making navigation dangerous in those areas.
