Car fire sparks grass fire

A car fire sparked a grass fire on Sulphur Creek Road off Old Hickory Boulevard early Saturday morning.

The flames had spread to nearby woods by the time firefighters arrived.

Crews had to fight the fire without water due to rough terrain and windy conditions.

Firefighters used rakes, shovels, and fire boots to stump out the flames.

The blaze was quickly contained but several hotspots had to be monitored.

The identity of the burned vehicle's owner is unknown at this time.

The car is a total loss and the VIN was burned off in the fire.

No other property or homes were in damaged.

No one was hurt in the incident.
